Today, blogging is the newest style in food writing. Anyone who has an Internet connection and likes cooking can use free online software to create a weblog or blog. Blogs allow us to publish recipes, stories, videos, and photographs that relate to what we are writing about. It’s easy now to search even if there are hundreds or thousands of recipes because of the advance database. Readers and viewers can also post suggestions and comments or ask for clarification from the writer, which we cannot do in a book. One example of a functional food blog is the apple and spice blog.

This original food blog is written by Kathie, a 21-year-old lady from Sheffield Bedford, United Kingdom. She wrote this blog because she has a passion about all things related to food. The first time she knew that she had a love for cooking was when she was helping her grandma to make jam tarts with left over pastry when she was only four. Her dream is to build her own cake/bake shop in which she can spend her hours enjoying and being creative in the kitchen. As of now, she is in her fourth and final year at the university studying for a BSc Hons in Food and Nutrition. She is also a vegetarian for almost 12 years.

One reason why she wrote this blog is because she loves apples, where the name of the blog came from. She also states that when she doesn’t have an apple every day she feels poor. She also encourages everyone to post their favourite recipe every day using her blog.
